The role of galectins in virus infection - A systemic literature review

This breakthrough article demonstrated the upregulation and down regulations of different types of galectins in viral disease. It's very close to a roadmap for glycovirology. The types of galectins play different roles in the regulation of the viral infection. Some galectins are positive while others are negative and some have dual roles. The conclusion is that galectins or their antagonists can be used to control viral infection.
